Miss or Mister Biscuit Pageant Videos

June 19, 2010

The Miss or Mister Biscuit Pageant began around 6:00 p.m. as the culmination of day’s worth of lard (or butter) and flour consumption and contests. Similar to the crowd during the White Lightning Burlesque show, there were some mixed reactions to the performances, mostly, I believe, because no one knew what to expect. Next year may possibly help build those expectations and thus create more of an audience interaction at these various “entertainment” events.

These videos speak for themselves. It was an excruciatingly long event that was really not that entertaining, which I have to attribute to the pacing between contestants and portions of the event. Hopefully, they can find a more lively emcee for any future competitions or at least give that woman a break throughout the day. She was dragging ass like everyone else, and there were some comments from the audience that they had been there all day and were ready to wrap things up. O all-day festival woes.

Sorry for the quality. Since iPhone and Apple haven’t come through with that sponsorship, I’m not contractually obligated to always support them, I’ll just say that the video feature and camera are just not super-duper quality.

I didn’t know that biscuit pageants even existed! Needless to say it was very interesting watching the woman sing about being in love with her powdery, doughy, goodness! That tune will probably haunt me for some time. The lady with the red heels doing the apron dance was hilarious and slightly scary. Thanks for the experience.
